Forgive and Forget.

As most of you know I have started going back to school. One of my classes is my speech class, which is an 8 week course. I am in week 5 and I have been kicking butt. Getting A's and doing really really well. Then today I realized I had a date wrong and I missed the deadline for 2 assignments! :( I am so very disappointed in myself. That is 40 points I have missed, 50 total. So now no matter how hard I keep trying I will not get the A I was so sure I was going to get. I still plan on doing my best but am very disappointed that I messed up so big. I guess I have to forgive myself and just keep moving forward and try not to forget so often anymore.

A Night Out

So, for the first time in wow, I don't know how long, probably at least since high school. I went on a date! It was a blind date with my friend's 'insulation guy' yep that is all I knew him as, ' T the insulation guy' my friend thought it would be a great idea to set me up. She promised me that he was a 'hottie' and really nice. Since I have a tendency to attract losers, I hoped she would have better luck. :) So T and I talked for about a week on the phone and online then decided to meet. I was so very nervous, but my face hurt from smiling. Friday night came and we talked and he said he'd call for directions, the clocked ticked and ticked and I thought I had been stood up... But I was not. :) He came up to the door met my aunt and the princess, who btw was having a bad day and was really sad that I was leaving but I convinced her she would be fine and we were off. He even opened the door for me! I have never had that done for me before! I was very impressed! Oh and my friend was right, TOTAL Hottie! I apologized for my daughter and said she was having a bad day, and he offered to reschedule! How sweet is that. So he asked where I wanted to go and since I never get out I told him I didn't know and he said that was exactly why I need to pick, cause this was MY night out. WOW, I didn't know how to respond. So I picked a mexican restaurant and we had a very nice dinner and talked about ourselves, And you know I didn't talk about my kids all night long, which is what I usually tend to do. Then we went out for drinks. He was so nice and we have so much in common. I really hope to be able to go out with him again. He said he did too. Then yesterday we texted all day he wanted to meet up again after he got back in town, but I fell asleep. :( So I guess we'll see what happens today.
So that is my big news for the week, Oh and that I ACED my speech! I was really proud of myself, I am doing really good in school. I guess that's what happens when you go because you want to and not because you feel like you are supposed to.
I will update later and let you know if I hear more from T the insulation guy.

I Will Never Forget

Today I took the kids to school and noticed the flag at half-staff. For a second I wondered why, then I remembered the date. Has it really been 7 years since America was attacked? It doesn't seem possible. I remember that day, I remember getting a phone call and being told to turn on the TV. And I remember being in total disbelief and then just hugging my baby, since Buzz was not even 1 yet. We cuddled all day and just wondered what was next. It was later the next year that his dad decided to sign up for the National Guard. I couldn't have been more proud of him. I just want to say THANK YOU. To all of our soldiers, police, firemen, marines, seabees and every other public officer. Thank you for working so hard to keep me, my family and all of America safe. I support you fully and will continue praying for your safety. Also to all the families that lost loved ones that day, and have lost loved ones since in our efforts to keep such a tragedy from happening again...You are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Today I get the hard task of explaining what happened 7 years ago to my son, who is old enough to know now I believe, then he can remember with me.

Down on Grandma's Farm...

This weekend we had a family reunion down in Nowhereville MO. I hadn't been down there to see all my family since Princess was a little bitty baby and hadn't seen my great grandma's farm since she passed away in 2002. We had so much fun! My little munchkins got to meet all the other family munchkins and they played and played and were very sad when it was time to say goodbye. My grandma was very surprised when the family decided to celebrate her 80th birthday with a huge cake, balloons, cards and even some gifts. Oh and you can't forget the awesome, homegrown sweet corn! YUMMY!
While we were there we decided to visit grandma's farm house, which now belongs to a cousin. They redecorated and the house looks amazing, yet it still felt like 'home' I almost cried walking up and not seeing Grandma S waiting at the door. I got to go back on her land for the first time, we weren't allowed as kids because of the cattle. It felt incredible to just stand there and look over all the land, that when I was little went as far as I could see. It was really sad realizing how much of it is gone now but I am glad I got to go.
Then we visited the cemetary and Princess got really upset that she never got to meet her namesake, that was pretty hard to explain to a 5 year old who hasn't had to deal with death yet. But we got through it and Princess drew her Great Great Grandma S a picture to look at in Heaven. :)
We had such a great time being around all of our family and I hope we get to go back soon, if for nothing else to let the kids all play together again. Here are a few pics of the kids playing....

The life and Times of a QC Family

Hello Everybody! I am A.Berry. Let me introduce youto the little ones...First we have NRS aka The Karate Kid. N is 8 years old and working towards his blackbelt in Karate at a local Dojo. He is a great student and a pretty good kid to have around. He is also an awesome big brother to his 2 little sisters. KLS AKA Princess and MJS aka MJ or just Baby. K is 5 years old and in Kindergarten. She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up, or so she tells me. She loves playing dressup and wants to start cheerleading classes pretty soon. She loves to talk and is always singing new songs from school. MJ is almost 9 months old now. She is trying to crawl and gets herself into just about everything by rolling. She plays pattycake, which is really really cute if you ask me. And she LOVES her big brother and sister. N can always make her laugh and K is always singing to her which she loves. I am a photographer and a Mommy, not neccesarily in that order. I love both my jobs although they can be pretty demanding. But I love them
